Belgian Rotating Story- Lowie's Story
Lowie is the dog of Miss Lieve, our headmistress. He is also the mascot of our school. It is an English Cocker, his hair is chestnut brown and real soft. It’s a very nice dog! He can do many things: he sings, fetches the ball and listens to orders such as: sit, lay down, up and many other things.
The kids of our school can let Lowie out during playing time. They love to do that! Two girls of our class (Michela and Lisa) are going to do an act with him at the scool party.
We also made a story about Lowie:
Lowie was walking through the corridor and he needed to have a pee. He walked to the headmistress and pushed against her. She called two kids to go out with him. Lowie saw the kids coming, but they were stopped by a guy. Lowie jumped into the sky and became a kung-fu-fighting dog. The bad guy laughed at him and ran away with the kids. He tought he’d get a lot of ransom money for those kids. But Lowie didn’t let this happen! He chased them and hit the guy, he fell immediately on the floor. The police found them and the kids and the dog were brought back to their school. Lowie thought by himself: “this was a nice, calm day!”
Chapter 2: Lowie in Hungary
Lowie is a hero!
Then Lowie arrived at our school, we went a tour with her to the local forest. She was in my bag. When we started the tour evening was perfect, but suddenly it began to rain.
Then is just rained and rained. It didn’t want to stop. We tried to go away, but we couldn’t, because the ground was muddy and wet. If it is nog enough we didn’t bring any boots with us. We could only stay in the forest and waited for someone, who help us. During the clouds walked away, and it stopped to rain, but suddenly Lowie jumped out of my bag and went away. I was afraid of she would get lost. Therefor I ran after Lowie and suddenly she stopped and told me:
“Don’t be afraid, I’ll be carefull, and I’ll bring some help for you!’
I thought it was just a vision, because when I ran after Lowie I fell to the ground and swoon.
Then I woke up and I just remembered a face. Maybe it was a doctor. But why was I in hospital? When I came to, my friends told me Lowie brought some jeep, and then my teachers brought me here, to the hospital.
Well, finally you could understand why I said: Lowie is a hero!
Chapter 3: Lowie in Denmark
This time I want to tell the story by myself, so listen:
How lucky can one be, I had really been looking forward to my visit to Denmark and now I am here in the middle of everything.
Right from the start 5B promised to take special care of me and - oh - I really love that class with so many lovely and nice kids and I think they love me too especially because I saved one of the girls from the nasty boys.
Here comes the story: One day we all went to a Science Marathon at another big school here is Esbjerg for quite a lot of school kids. I think there were more than 300 hundreds or so…
The children in 5B were to build small Lego cars. The cars were just marvelous and I enjoyed driving about in one of them or rather raced around the desks in the classroom as well as in between the chairs. What a lot of fun I had.
Tina, one of the girls in 5B, felt suddenly bad and had to lie down on the floor, because no one could really help her. But bad she was and could only lie there doing nothing being more of less awake.
Suddenly some bad boys passed by and started kicking at everthing lying on the floor. Poor Tina she was hit, too, by them, even several times, I could not bear to look at this, I felt some magic powers grow inside me. I turned the little Lego car, and - BELIEVE it or NOT - it turned ino some kind of a huge MONSTER emitting electric shocks into the naughty boys.
Oh my goodness, you should have seen them, they stumbled, they fell over, one of them even fainted for a moment and awake again all of them rushed out of the room, how funny they looked - totally scared by me and my magic powers. So many pupils laughed at this scenery and the rest of the pupils in 5B even clapped their hands and called me a hero.
So proud I was and am!!
But in a week all this nice life here in Denmark being spoilt by so many kids will be over.
But - ok - I am ready for new adventures in Ireland.
Chapter 4: Lowie in Ireland
Lowie and the call of the canines
When Lowie arrived in Ireland he came to my house. He met my dog Max and I could not keep them apart. They would play so much that he soon forgot about me .The next day he had to go back to school. But I knew he would come back not to see me but to see Max. One day he came to see me again but Max was gone. I told him he was a sheepdog and he must be out working. Later, Lowie sneaked away to see what Max would do with the sheep. But he was not with the sheep, not even the sheep where their so Lowie came back and heard a bark. Max is back, he thought to himself.
When he came back he saw a dog it looked like Max, it even smelled like Max, but his super doggy senses told that was not Max not even a dog
But a….. giant cat !
He new that cat like the back of his paw. It was the cat that belonged to the boys who kicked Tina in Denmark.
He barked a mega bark and knocked that cat down so hard it automatically ran for its nine lives!!! But Lowie didn’t give up….he chased that cat so far Lowie Lowie didn’t recognise where he was. The cat disappeared, Max was missing and he knew I would be worried. He flickered on his super doggy smell-a-tron and sniffed that cat out.
When he found the cat it was beside a deep hole that did not look like a rabbit burrow it had automatic wooden doors and lots of security alarms. But how would he get close enough to catch that cat .It was easy. His chestnut coat blended in perfectly with the tall brown grass. He just got close enough when he heard a bark of fright !! He knew it was Max but then the seven different other barks of fright were heard. He didn’t know who the other dogs were but he knew he had to get them out. When he looked up the cat was gone and five seconds later he woke up in a metal cabinet. It only took a half-a-second to ram the door down. When he came out saw he was half way down the long tunnel. So he switched on his super noisy trackers and heard little yelp and he knew exactly where to go !!!! followed the noise. It led to a giant laboratory. He saw Max and seven different other dogs. He went over to Max and asked him who where these fellow canines . there was a Labrador Susie,a Jack Russel terrier called buster a spaniel called Bob a gun dog called Wigeon a poodle called Toto and a husky called Tyrone.
He let them all out and as soon as the cat came back in he went straight back out and never came back again. Soon Lowie and Max said there goodbyes and the other dogs thanked them and went home. Max showed Lowie the way back and the Lowie had tot go back to school. Max was ok as he lay down under hin favourite bush to sleep.

Blarney Bubbles Rotating Story from Hungary
I was very happy in Hungary and I’ve got lots of new friends! The class where I came is 5a. It’s a funny class and they like to make mischief! The town is in the middle of lowland in Szolnok County. The children are very kind and friendly. They gave me a new name – Biri Bari.
The first thing in Hungary was Easter. It’s a good feast and I dyed beautiful Easter eggs. Then we planted the vegetables and they are growing very fast. I’ve learnt lots of things. Now I can ride a dog, read in Hungarian, climb trees, count money and use bow and arrow.
I went on a trip to Budapest by train. Budapest is the capital city of Hungary and it is beautiful. I saw the Parliament and the Crown Jewels in it. Next we went to the National Bank and the Circus. It was fantastic. There were lots of tricks, clowns, lions, horses and other interesting performances. We laughed a lot.
I had a bicycle tour to Hagykörű with Matyi. The village is the “cherry garden” of Hungary. In Nagykörű I saw old Hungarian houses and things from the past that people used a long time ago.
I went across the Tisza on a ferry. The Tisza is the second biggest river in Hungary.
Of course the families were really kind to me. They gave me all the things I wanted.

Blarney Bubbles Rotating Story from Denmark
I have been to Denmark for the first time in my life – very nice!!!
I came to a school in Esbjerg, Praestegaardsskolen – and attended 5B with many lovely kids – I really enjoyed being with them and they treated me very respectfully.
One day we went to another school to watch a funny play with a teenage boy who had lots of problems. There were many other children there too – and another day we were lucky to listen to a wonderful concert with some big funny boys full of music, but, believe me or not, it was much funnier to watch the children learn Danish and Maths in their classroom.
When the Christmas holidays started I went to Amalie’s home. We celebrated Christmas on the 24th of December starting with decorating the Christmas tree in the morning. Later in the evening when all the guests had arrived we had Christmas dinner with duck, red cabbage and rice pudding, danced around the Christmas tree singing carols and then came the BIG MOMENT where everybody unpacked his or her Christmas presents. Amalie got among other things a splendid keyboard. The rest of the evening we spent in each other’s company enjoying it with delicious assorted chocolates and coke.
One week later New Year’s Eve arrived. Everybody celebrated again with nice food and a lot of drinking – baaaaaaaaaaa. We listened to the Danish Queen making her annual speech to the Danish people. At midnight we went outside into the dark to watch the sparkling fireworks!! The sky was lit up with many different colours – what a spectacular sight, Amalie’s family also sent up fireworks.
Then back to school – the year was now 2009 – I have also slept a lot due to so many dark hours especially in Amalie’s bed with her lovely dog.
But now I am looking forward to going to Belgium and being re-united with all the people in the Comenius Project and hoping for new adventures.
Yours

Blarney Bubbles Rotating Story from Belgium
I have been to Belgium for the first time in my life. What an experience!
The children gave me a very warm welcome. I came to a school in Opglabbeek, thats called ‘de Lettertuin’. I really like the name of the school – the Lettergarden.
Everyone at school was very happy when I arrived. I participated in all kinds of activities and lessons.
One day I went with all the kids from the kindergarten to the forest. We learned about trees, animals and we saw a lot of mushrooms. We also measured an oak tree with our hands. We had to make a circle. After that we danced around the tree.
In the 1st grade I’ve met ‘Mol’ and ‘Beer’ (they are a mole and a bear) and ‘Wero’ (it is a little man). Mol and Beer are the dolls who read with the children, they help them. This was a whole honour! I liked Wero a lot! He was very nice. Every weekend he goes to a child’s home. When he comes back, he tells all his adventures to the class.
In February I went to the forest-class ‘Relaxhoris’ in Xhoris. We did a treasure hunt. We went to an adventure park and visited a bakery museum. We went swimming and bowling.
Last week I visited all the classes for the last time. This was our way of saying goodbye. In some classes they were doing crafts for mother’s day. The children from the 6th grade made a table piece with flowers. The children from the 4th grade decorated a plate with napkins. Then they put on it their self-made shower gel and bathing soda. The 3rd grade made a collar and a keyring.
Bye bye BB!!!! Kisses from Belgium xxx

One day – Comenius Day it was pretty sunny, we walked to the outdoor sport centre Cakle on the bank of Tichá Orlice river. Pupils played games, made a fire and cooked very tasty rolls – twister break. I saw goats there too.
Much of the time I spend with 4th grade and the best experience was running the Relay Race of Emil Zátopek. He was the famous Czech marathon runner. Myself and 4th grade were the first!!!! Pupils gave me fruit ice lolly. It was really delicious! I visited the Zoo with 1st and 2nd grade pupils. We watched many different animals from Africa and other parts of the world.
In October I travelled by fast train to the Capital of the Czech Republic – Prague. We walked through historical parts of the city - Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and I watched the changing of the guards.
